What is the value addition of companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Apple? Apart from communication is there any other value these companies are adding to the society. (Amazon, Tesla and Elon Musk are an exception).
Unnecessary data, false news, fake explanations, propaganda theories, disturbing apps what not all the junk is being shared by these companies with only motive of consuming the valuable time of the users. In addition to this the said companies are also meddling with the lives of innocent people on pretext of archiving and data backup. They acquire start up companies which come up with a different and useful philosophy and try to create monopoly by controlling the Mankind. For instance, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram all belong to a single entity. You don’t have any other choice.
Can the CEOs and owners of the said companies produce a bag of rice or a bag of wheat on their own? Can these people survive if all of a sudden internet and other IT networks comes to a standstill permanently? What would these guys do if the internet extinct for some reason?
Bhutan is one of the happiest countries in the world but it is not rich as per the perception of most people. Hence the perception of people is wrong that the one who has money is happy. Not knowing this people always run after money.
The value of a product can be evaluated based on its very basic instinct. The very basic instinct of the above companies is to earn as much profit as possible by hook or crook. They would indulge in all sorts of manipulations to achieve this. The said companies make productive Mankind unproductive by reducing their productivity in the form of consuming people’s time by playing with their psychological aspects. They invest a lot in such researches that how to attract people to their apps. Investing to make people unproductive. What an irony!
On the other hand, the very basic instinct of an agricultural product is to feed the people. To make humans productive by taking care of their health by providing quality food. How many of us know about top Agri companies like Cargill, Archer Daniels, Nutrien, Bayer, Syngenta and CNH? Who are the CEOs and owners of those companies? If one thinks that value of money is more important then what if that money could not buy a food item when someone is dying hungry but have 1000s dollars in his pocket. Do you say that someone is rich because he has more money or poor because his money cannot buy that food item due to which he is dying of hunger? What would you say about the one who possess that food item but does not have a single penny? He survived because he has enough food though he does not have a single penny in his pocket. So who is rich and happy?
My intent is not to ban social media/IT but to regularize it so that it will be useful to the people and not detrimental. At the same time general public should be provided enough awareness on the importance of agriculture and agri companies.
IT is comfort but Agriculture is survival
